YONEX ASTROX 88S & 88D (2018)

February 9, 2021 by admin

Guess people were right in saying Astrox will eventually replace Voltric to be the Power range
Here’s the latest racquet matrix by Yonex Japan:
http://www.yonex.co.jp/badminton/pdf/bad_racquets_selector.pdf

Note: this matrix does not include all models but only models available for sale in Japan
This is usually an indicator for which racquets are next to be eventually phased out globally
Also before anyone asks, the LDF was never on the matrix as it was a limited production racquet

PS. I hope Yonex can stop relying on ARC11 and bring out a new Control series by the end of this year
Just keep producing the breadwinner (like what they’ve done with ZF2) and release a new series alongside it
They honestly deceived us into thinking the AX77 was going to be the new control range when they got LYD to endorse it
Oh but wait, AX88 was designed alongside LYD too

At this point I reckon it’ll be better off if they just dedicated the Astrox series as Power/Control in the venn diagram but they didn’t do that for the need of product range distinction and they wanted to retire the Voltric series
