Usain Bolt Caps Individual Olympic Track Career With 200M Gold Medal – NESN.com

August 19, 2016 by admin

Another day, another gold medal for the fastest man alive.

Usain Bolt blew past the competition in the 200-meter final Thursday night en route to his second gold medal of the 2016 Rio Games and his eight Olympic gold overall.

The Jamaican sprinter finished with a time of 19.78 seconds, which, as you can tell in the photo below, was far better than any of his opponents.

Canada’s Andre De Grasse, who shared a smile with Bolt in the semifinals, came in second, followed by France’s Christophe Lemaire.

Bolt now has won the 100 and 200-meter races at the past three Summer Olympics — Beijing (2008), London (2012) and Rio. Thursday’s race also was Bolt’s final individual Olympics event, but he will run for one last gold Friday in the 4×100 relay.
