Time to Talk Day 2021 – British Taekwondo

February 4, 2021 by admin

Posted on 4th February 2021

Today, Thursday February 4th 2021, marks ‘Time to Talk Day’.

It is time to start those small conversations about mental health to help remove the stigma surrounding it.

We can all acknowledge that the pandemic has had, and is still having, a big impact on people’s mental health.

For more information on how to get involved in Time to Talk Day, and to find out how you can support those around you click HERE.

Once people start talking, we need people to start listening.

We all know that once we get back to training our young people will need support.

Part 2 of our Welfare Officer Training “Time to Listen” can support you to develop those skills and help enable you to interpret what the young person is saying and how best to support them.

This training is now on offer to those Welfare Officers who have already completed the Safeguarding & Protecting Children’s Workshop.  This is a 3 hour interactive online session for a cost of £15.

Available Dates:

Saturday 6th February 2021                      9:00am – 12:00pm

Wednesday 10th February 2021                6:00pm – 9:00pm

Further dates to be announced.

Please contact [email protected] to reserve your place.

Now more than ever having an awareness of mental health problems is vital.

1 in 4 people in the UK experiencing a mental health problem each year (and this does not include those who have been impacted by the current pandemic), now is the time to develop your knowledge so that you are able to support people living with a mental health problem.

UK Coaching – in collaboration with its awarding organisation 1st4sport, and partners Mind, the mental health charity, and Sport England – are also still offering their Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity+ eLearning course at a reduced cost of £12.

The course is suitable for learners aged 16+ and can be accessed by clicking the link here.
