WWE Royal Rumble 2021

Watch: Drew McIntyre defeats Goldberg in a hard-hitting match at WWE Royal Rumble

February 1, 2021 by admin

WWE Royal Rumble kicked-off with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending his title against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. In what was a hard-hitting, typical Goldberg-style match, it almost seemed as if the Hall of Famer will walk out as the new WWE Champion. However, Drew McIntyre held his nerves and pinned Goldberg after hitting the Claymore to retain his title.

Even before the bell rang, Drew McIntyre performed a spear on Goldberg and the action went outside the ring where Goldberg put McIntyre through a barricade. The match finally started with McIntyre back in the ring who hit Goldberg with the Claymore only for him to kick-out, much to the shock of the WWE Champion.

Recovering from that, Goldberg went on to deliver multiple spears and hit Drew McIntyre with the Jackhammer, the finisher with which he put down ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt last year. Drew McIntyre kicked-out of the Jackhammer and delivered a Claymore kick to Goldberg to finally pin him and retain his title after a hard-hitting quick match.

After the match, Goldberg came up to Drew McIntyre and the two had a massive moment of respect. The Hall of Famer hugged the WWE Champion and raised his hands before leaving the ring.

The men’s Royal Rumble match is set to main event the pay-per-view and the opponent for Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 could be revealed tonight.

Arn Anderson tips returning Superstar to win 2021 WWE Royal Rumble

January 26, 2021 by admin

Arn Anderson believes Brock Lesnar is the frontrunner to win the 2021 WWE Men’s Royal Rumble match.

This year’s WWE Royal Rumble event will take place on Sunday, January 31. As of the time of writing, 17 Superstars have been announced for the 30-man match, including Daniel Bryan and Edge. Brock Lesnar, however, is not being advertised for the show.

Speaking on his ARN podcast, Arn Anderson was asked to reveal his pick to win this year’s match. He immediately selected Brock Lesnar, despite uncertainty surrounding The Beast’s WWE contract situation right now.

“The Rumble’s always an exciting show because there’s so many things that can happen during the course of an hour-plus match. Gosh, I’ll just go there. How do you not count Brock Lesnar as the number one contender? I mean, to even skip over him, how do you do that?

“You’d be foolish if you look back on it and go, ‘Okay, he wasn’t my first choice,’ because he’s the guy – I’ve no idea what his contract situation is – but he’s the guy that’s always looming in the dark. He’s the Boogeyman, the real one.”

Brock Lesnar has not appeared in WWE since he lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36.

It is not clear if and when Brock Lesnar will compete in WWE again. Contract talks between the eight-time World Champion and WWE reportedly hit an impasse in 2020, meaning he became a free agent.

Although Brock Lesnar’s merchandise has been removed from WWE Shop, his name is still mentioned on WWE television and WWE’s social media platforms.

“You’re just trying to keep up!” – Former WWE Star discusses the 2006 Royal Rumble [Exclusive]

January 12, 2021 by admin

Former WWE Superstar Chris Masters recently discussed his first Royal Rumble match and the build-up to the event.

In an interview with Dr. Chris Featherstone on SK Wrestling’s Inside SKoop, “The Masterpiece” went into detail about his feelings surrounding the 2006 Royal Rumble and how he didn’t have a lot of time to let the whole experience really sink in.

Masters was asked who told him he would be appearing in the 2006 edition of the Royal Rumble and, while he was unsure, he was more than happy to discuss his personal recollection of his emotions leading up to the match.

“You know, I don’t remember that, but for the way I was positioned in the company, it was pretty much a given, you know? I had already competed on the Survivor Series. I think we did the Elimination Chamber, maybe before the Rumble even. So I had been booked in a way where I kinda figured I was going to be in the Royal Rumble. For me, there was a lot of bucket list things happening at the same time. I got to work at Survivor Series, which was awesome. I got to work the Elimination Chamber. So, at that point you’re just… you’ve got so much going on all the time, you don’t really have much time to sit back and be like “ Man, I’m gonna be in the Royal Rumble!” And kind of pinch yourself. I mean, you have those moments but it’s hard to… you’re so involved in what you’re doing at that point. You’re on the road all the time. Everything’s just happening so quick, you’re just trying to keep up!”

Chris Masters lasted seven minutes in the 2006 Royal Rumble

Chris Masters’ feelings towards this time period in his career are completely understandable, given how strongly he was booked and how many in-ring appearences he was making after being brought into WWE.

He entered the 2006 Royal Rumble at number 26 before being eliminated by Carlito after seven minutes.

Rey Mysterio would go on to win the coveted WrestleMania title shot after outlasting all other men, from entering at the number two spot.
