Wild Rift patch 2.0a official notes introduces massive nerfs to Evelynn, Lee Sin, and Wukong

January 18, 2021 by admin

League of Legends: Wild Rift mid patch 2.0a update is finally out, and Riot will be looking to nerf a lot of the overpowered champions this time around.

Evelynn, who is primarily supposed to be a jungler, is being flexed in the mid lane, completely dominating any match-up. The Wild Rift devs will be nerfing her power as a laner, but she will remain as effective as she used to in the jungle.

Bilgewater, ahoy! A haven for cutthroats, smugglers, and sea dogs, where there’s a brawl in every bar and a knife bound for every back. A city of new beginnings and watery ends. Here’s what the swiftest Yordle scout had to say about it: pic.twitter.com/nXAdLzNqLJ

Wukong, on the other hand, will have his camp clearing speed significantly toned down in the jungle. Shyvana will be seeing some much-needed nerfs to her innate tankiness and base stats.

Lee Sin, Gragas, Miss Fortune, and Aurelion Sol will also have their names on the nerf list. Wild Rift’s mid patch 2.0a update looks to balance the current game state and make some of the missed changes in patch 2.0.

Players looking to find a detailed description of the new Wild Rift patch 2.0a can visit Riot’s official website.

Wild Rift patch 2.0a official notes

#1 – Wild Rift Champions

Evelynn

Evelynn’s push and roam power as a mid laner in Wild Rift is just too much. On top of that, her (1) damage is generally pretty high -” Haters gonna Hate Spike.”

(1) Hate Spike

  • AP ratio: 0.5 → 0.45
  • Mana: 25/30/35/40 → 30/35/40/45
  • Damage to minions: 100% at all ranks → 35/40/45/50%

Gragas

Image via Riot Games

Gragas is very tanky with great sustain in lane. Riot is nerfing him, so he doesn’t straight up win all trades against his lane opponents.

Base Stats

  • Health per level: 125 → 115

(P) Happy Hour

(1) Barrel Roll

  • Mana: 55/60/65/70 → 65/70/75/80
  • Minion damage: 70% → 50%

Lee Sin

The blind monk has been kicking up a fuss with his (1) range.

(1) Sonic Wave

  • Target range: 11 → 10
  • Base damage: 60/100/140/180 → 55/90/125/160

Miss Fortune

Image via Riot Games

Miss Fortune is on the strong side, so Riot is tuning her down a bit.

(1) Double Up

  • Base damage: 30/60/90/120 → 20/50/80/110

(2) Strut

  • Attack speed: 40/60/80/100% → 30/50/70/90%

Shyvana

Image via Riot Games

Shyvana has a lot of damage on her kit and a lot of innate tankiness. Riot is lowering some of her base stats and her elemental dragon-empowered bonuses.

Base Stats

(1) Twin Bite

  • Slow (Mountain Dragon buff): 60% → 40%

(2) Burnout

  • Base damage: 25/45/65/85 → 25/40/55/70

(Ult) Dragon’s Descent

  • Dragon form bonus health (Ocean Dragon buff): 150/250/350 HP → 100/150/200 HP

Wukong

Wukong’s jungle is very strong. Riot is nerfing his clear speed and his element of surprise.

(2) Warrior Trickster

  • Invisibility time: 1.5s → 1s
  • Clone damage: 50% at all levels → 20/30/40/50%

(3) Nimbus Strike

  • Attack speed bonus: 35/40/45/50% → 25/35/45/55%

Aurelion Sol

“This one’s coming in hot from a recent spike to Aurelion Sol’s winrate. From the desk of balance lead, Jonathan Chao: “I don’t know how to word it. Basically he could zoom everywhere before, just not change directions. Now he can zoom everywhere and change directions. We are nerfing him so he can change directions but at a slower move speed.”

(1) Starsurge

  • Bugfix: Aurelion Sol no longer gains 20% movement speed when Starsurge missile is fired

(3) Comet of Legend

  • Maximum passive move speed: 40% → 20%

#2. Wild Rift Item updates

Guardian Angel

League of GA is coming to an end in Wild Rift

  • Total cost: 2800G → 3100G
  • Combine cost: 400G → 700G
  • Attack Damage: 45 → 40
  • Revive Cooldown: 180s → 210s

#3. Free-to-Play Wild Rift Champion rotations

  • Jan 21 – Jan 27: Ahri, Amumu, Evelynn, Ezreal, Jax, Nami, Seraphine, Sona, Vayne, Wukong
  • Jan 28 – Feb 3: Alistar, Braum, Fiora, Gragas, Kai’Sa, Olaf, Singed, Twisted Fate, Vayne, Yasuo

Froskurinn parts ways with the League of Legends LEC broadcast team

January 13, 2021 by admin

League of Legends color caster and analyst Indiana “Froskurinn” Black has decided to step down from the LEC broadcast team ahead of the 2021 Spring Split.

Froskurinn previously announced that her contract with Riot Games had ended. It looks like she will not be renewing the contract for season 11.

It’s a freelancer tweet, team. I’m looking for work – as I always am – as a freelancer.

— Froskurinn (@Froskurinn) October 31, 2020

Though fans of the LEC were hoping that Froskurinn would come back to casting professional League of Legends for one more season, a recent announcement from her solidified the matter. Froskurinn will not be returning in 2021.

I have decided not to re-sign with the LEC for the 2021 season. I cannot reveal the next steps yet, but I’ve always felt strongly about moving into management and development positions. I wish the LEC broadcast, teams, and fans the very best. I absolutely loved it there.❤️

In a recent tweet, Froskurinn wrote,

“I have decided not to re-sign with the LEC for the 2021 season. I cannot reveal the next steps yet, but I’ve always felt strongly about moving into management and development positions. I wish the LEC broadcast, teams, and fans the very best. I absolutely loved it there.”

Froskurinn’s departure is a great loss for the LEC broadcast team

Excited to see what you’re cooking up next. Esports needs more creative minds like you in development and higher-up positions. ✌

The LEC broadcasting team boasts of one of the most quirky and innovative groups of casters and analysts in the professional circuit of League of Legends.

Froskurinn played an integral role in making European League of Legends incredibly exciting. Her color casting gave the matches a unique flavor which made fans come back for more.

Her synergy with fellow play-by-play caster Daniel “Drakos” Drakos is something to behold. LEC fans will be missing the duo heading into Spring Split 2021.

Froskurinn started her casting career in China’s LPL where she made a name for herself before moving to Europe in 2019.

Her plans to leave the broadcasting team is quite reminiscent of Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith’s decision to leave the LCK casting and join 100Thieves as their coach and manager.

Welcome Chris Smith (@PapaSmithy), our new League of Legends General Manager!

Previously an LCK caster for 4+ years, Chris is one of the most well-respected analysts / commentators in the industry. We’re thrilled to bring him to NA & can’t wait to build more for 100T LoL. #100T pic.twitter.com/5ixH4Gm1uQ

Froskurinn might just be contemplating something similar. But nothing has been made official yet.

Chat improvement features might be on the way in League of Legends patch 11.1 and 11.2

January 5, 2021 by admin

To further improve the gameplay experience, League of Legends will be receiving a lot of minor tweaks to its in-game chat over the next few patch updates.

After the League of Legends patch 10.25 update, the MOBA has been witnessing a bug, where players were forced to double tap “Enter” to get the in-game chat up once a nexus was destroyed.

This is causing many to not be able to write the customary “GGEZ” in all chat before the game exists, and has tilted many players indeed.

Planned changes for League of Legends in-game Chat:
11.1 – Ctrl + A / Drag Select
11.2 – Fix for End of Game double-enter bug
11.2 – Scaling changes (chat will be larger at small resolutions and scale better)

All of these are subject to change yadda yadda.

Happy Chatting!

— Jordan Checkman (@CestDommage) January 4, 2021

In a recent tweet, League of Legends’ senior experience designer, Jordan Checkman, talked about the plans that Riot has for the in-game chat system in patches 11.1 and 11.2.

Checkman outlined the following tweaks that will be coming to League of Legends:

  • 11.1 – Ctrl + A / Drag Select
  • 11.2 – Fix for End of Game double-enter bug
  • 11.2 – Scaling changes (chat will be larger at small resolutions and scale better)

However, the developer also pointed out that all of these tweaks are subjected to change. By the time the patches officially roll out, a lot of the proposed tweaks may not make it to the notes, while there is a possibility of having extra changes piling on.

Drag Select system to come in League of Legends patch 11.1

Remember that 70% of LoL players never played a ranked in their lives, and among them 80% are below plat.
Bringing coordination for the 6% that would need it (and I think except very high elo you dont need it anyway) wouldnt balance the toxic vocal it would bring to the others

— Nico (@NicoDht) January 4, 2021

League of Legends’ patch 10.25 item and item system overhaul brought a lot of changes to the in-game chat as well. Many players found the new system to be rather unintuitive. In a recent Reddit post players took to the forum to complain about how bad the new chat UI actually was.

League of Legends’ chat system does require a lot of work, and the Drag Select option that’ll be coming in patch 11.1 might just be able to fix some of the issues that players have with the communication tools in the MOBA.

League of Legends patch 11.1 is right around the corner, and it will be introducing season 11, along with a plethora of changes to both items and champions.
