Saturday DraftKings Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 16 49ers-Cardinals Showdown tournaments

  • DraftKings Showdown Picks: 49ers vs. Cardinals

49ers vs. Cardinals won’t be on traditional television in Week 16 because it’s only on Amazon Prime Video, but with plenty of explosive players on both teams, it’s a game that’s still worth playing in single-game NFL DFS contests. It also could be pretty one-sided, which is shown through our heavy investment in the Cardinals in our DraftKings Showdown lineup.

The captain choice for us came down to Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins, and we went with Murray thanks to his rushing ability. We’ve also played Kenyan Drake, so we have the three most expensive Arizona options in place. There’s enough value to be found on a dinged-up San Francisco roster to make that work.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: 49ers vs. Cardinals

Captain (1.5x price, 1.5x points): QB Kyler Murray, Cardinals ($19,200)

While the 49ers will likely present some values in this game due to injuries, none of them are likely to score enough raw points to make playing them as the captain worthwhile. That brings the choice down to Murray or DeAndre Hopkins for us, and because Murray can practically win a week with just his legs, we’ve gone with him. He scored 27.3 DK points in Week 1 against a much healthier 49ers defense.

MORE SATURDAY DRAFTKINGS: Bucs-Lions | Dolphins-Raiders

FLEX: WR DeAndre Hopkins, Cardinals ($11,600)

Hopkins made another ridiculous touchdown catch in Week 15, and he remains the best stacking option with Murray. He’ll be highly owned in this game, including a likely 20-percent captain ownership, and he should make plays even against Richard Sherman. It’s too risky to fade Hopkins.

FLEX: RB Kenyan Drake, Cardinals ($9,200)

Drake has us covered for various game scenarios with the three priciest Cardinals. Before a slow Week 15, Drake had scored double-digit DK points in five straight games, and he should return to that level in this one because his touches have been consistent in the second half of the season.

SATURDAY FULL-SLATE DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel

FLEX: RB Jeff Wilson Jr., 49ers ($3,600)

Wilson (ankle) will have to make it on the field for this pick to work, but if he’s out there, you should play him. He’d be the best value captain option in that scenario, too. That’s because Raheem Mostert is out for the season with an ankle injury. Wilson is a powerful runner who’s shown in the past that he can cash in around the goal line. This year, JWJ has also proven to be an explosive runner between the 20s, and he should lead the 49ers in carries somewhere in the double-digits as long as he plays.

WEEK 16 DFS CASH LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel

FLEX: WR Richie James Jr., 49ers ($2,600)

James has the little ‘Q’ next to him in DK, but Kyle Shanahan told reporters Tuesday that James had just dealt with a sprained thumb during Week 15 and will be good to go. He was the second-most snapped San Francisco receiver against Dallas and saw seven targets. That workload should continue with Deebo Samuel still out. James is a bargain for an explosive player at sub-$3K.

WEEK 16 DFS TOURNAMENT LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel

FLEX: RB Jerick McKinnon, 49ers ($2,400)

Shanahan can’t play a game with just one main running back. Someone will fill Mostert’s spot in the rotation, and that should be McKinnon. Because DK benefits pass-catching backs, McKinnon has value at his price. It won’t be hard for him to exceed his price point with solid production.
