HELP: How to fix hand pain injury due to THIN grip + HEAVY racquet?

December 20, 2020 by admin

Ok so 3 months back I started playing with a very
(head) heavy racquet. Also I used a THIN synthetic grip on it.

After practicing the kickback movement and finger-power
exercises used in stick smashes with it sometimes, I would
feel pain in my palm muscles below little finger.

The pain occurs when my racquet is moving/bouncing backwards
after the split-second tightening of my grip. In that the
muscles around the little finger serve to stabilize the racquet
I guess.

After realizing my mistake, I now see that I still have pain even
with lighter thicker-grip racquets due to weeks of abusing my
hand on extremely thin grip racquet.

What can I do to fix this pain? It only happens during play,
not at all during everyday activities.
