Floyd Mayweather rips Conor McGregor after UFC 257 loss: ‘That bum will never be on my level’

January 24, 2021 by admin

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor made boatloads of cash together back in 2017, when Mayweather beat McGregor in a boxing match that became the second-biggest pay-per-view fight of all time, but Floyd was showing no love for McGregor following Conor’s loss on Saturday at UFC 257.

Mayweather, who is set to do an exhibition with YouTuber Logan Paul in about a month, came across a poss on Instagram asking why he (Mayweather) is hated “for the way he carries himself,” while McGregor is loved for “the same” thing?

As these things tend to do, that got Floyd in a mood to post.

“The world knows Con Artist McLoser can steal everything from me and be loved but I’m hated. That just lets you all know that racism still exists,” Mayweather wrote on Instagram. “Just know that bum will never be me or be on my level. I’m just built different, my mindset is on another planet, my skills are second to none, I’m a natural born winner, and yes, I talk a lot of trash, but every time I back it up! This is what they hate.

“It’s sad that you can be a poor black kid from the ghetto that has dealt with racism your whole life and work extremely hard to put yourself and your family in a better position, and most of the hate comes from my own people.

“Conor cannot even win in his own sport, but talking about coming back to boxing to fight Pacquiao. Nobody wants to see that, it’s like my leftovers eating leftovers.”

As for that last part, it looks like the dream of Pacquiao-McGregor may indeed be dead for now, as there are legitimate talks for Manny to fight Ryan Garcia going on.

Mayweather is making some points here and I don’t think they should just be dismissed or anything, but it also should be said that Mayweather is, uh — how to put this? — incredibly touchy when other fighters are shown love he feels he’s been denied in his career. That’s to the point that he got seriously a little upset when he didn’t realize people calling Wanheng Menayothin “TBE” for having more wins than him wasn’t exactly serious.

That said? I kind of agree with what Floyd says about his mindset and all that. McGregor’s dedication to fighting has been repeatedly questioned in the last few years, and the fact is, he’s lost three of his last four fights when you combine MMA and boxing. McGregor’s a great MMA fighter, but there just aren’t many Floyd Mayweathers in any sport.
