In Rachel’s absence, our Development Officer James Docherty has taken on the responsibility of getting you all through the Educare online Safeguarding in Sport course. The Educare course is now also a minimum operating standard for all BT coaches, which is why it is extremely important you and all your club coaches complete this before the 30th June deadline to maintain your BT Coach’s Insurance cover.
The Educare online ‘Safeguarding in Sport’ course was due to be completed by all BT coaches by 1st May 2020, but has now been extended until 11.59pm on Tuesday 30th June 2020. This extension is due to the current COVID-19 situation and respects that some of you will have had more important matters to deal with in these strange times.
This course will only take around two-hours of your time and will issue you with a an electronic certificate of achievement once completed.
British Taekwondo has kindly paid for the Educare online Safeguarding in Sport course (more than £20 per person if you were to book your own course online) for all our coaches to complete. The course is aimed at bringing all BT coaches up to date with their basic safeguarding training and knowledge to encourage best practice with regards to safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults within Taekwondo.
If you have already sent your certificate to both [email protected] and [email protected] and have had a response from either James Docherty (Development Officer) or Rachel Smith (BT Safeguarding & Compliance Officer) confirming receipt of your certificate, there is nothing more you need to do for this course.
If you have not yet received the link to access the course in an email from Educare, or if you are having problems accessing the course online, please contact our Development Officer James Docherty at: [email protected] to let him know and James will get it sorted for you right away.
